Meetings for the 2024-2025 club year will begin in September 2024.

The Pitcairn Woman's Club was founded in 1935. At that time it was known as "The Young Women's Club"
  • The objective of the club was to carry out, by means of its program and work, its object which is to encourage the promotion of all civic, educational, philanthropic, moral and social measures.
  • Today’s club object: the object of the club shall be to create and maintain an organized center for woman’s work, thought and action, and to aid in civic, educational and charitable activities.
  • In 1939 the name of the club was changed to the “Pitcairn Woman’s Club”.  The change was made to include women of all ages who might want to become members.
  • In 1949 through the mid-80’s the club sponsored the Well Baby Clinic, which served Pitcairn and surrounding communities.  The clinic provided routine well checks for infants and pre-school aged children under the supervision of a physician. The volunteers from the club provided services for over 30,000 children.
  • The club bought an early life membership for $1000 to encourage plans for a hospital to be built in Monroeville and later donated generously to the hospital.
  • In the early years the club’s budget was approximately $1000 to support scholarships, Camp B, Camp G, Pony and Colt Leagues, the School for the Blind, March of Dimes and more.
  • Today the club's budget exceeds $3,500 and supports the following philanthropies:  Camp B; Camp G; Pitcairn Easter Egg Hunt; Pitcairn Meals on Wheels;  Pitcairn Halloween Parade; Pitcairn Old Fashion Christmas; $1,500 scholarship for Pitcairn residents graduating from Gateway High School; HOBY; Veterans Hospital and other community needs upon request.
  • The club holds 2 Pancake Breakfasts in the fall and spring.
  • In 2006 the club sponsored a campaign, “Banners Over Broadway” to provide decorative banners for the town.  The successful campaign allowed the club to purchase 2 sets of banners, one depicting a train and the other that depicts a snowflake for use during the winter and holiday season.
  • The club is open to women in Pitcairn and surrounding communities who are 18 years of age or older.
  • Dues are $25 per year
